Dear Racers,

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you and your families.  Our last event of a challenging 2008, the "Holiday Bash @ the SGDC" went off well and without a glitch.  The gravity numbers were good and so was the overall vibe at the race.  The trail system is in pristine condition right now with the XC course being smoother than ever and the Dual Slalom and DH Course #1 are just awesome right now.  So if you haven't made it out yet to the weekly Wednesday Night ride with the SG Bicycle Club please consider joining us at 7:15 (lights are mandatory) at the main gate on Zaca Station Road (the next one will be 12/17 as there is a SGBC meeting this Wed).

The next event at the SG Dirt Club is the "2nd Annual New Years Day at the Ranch".  Last year we had over 150 people show up to ride conflict free in our green hilled paradise.  Gravity riders get unlimited shuttles in our deluxe shuttle to ride DH Course #1 and access to the Dual Slalom Course for only $15, while cross country riders pay only $5 for complete access to the entire trail system.  Every rider will be feed a tasty BBQ too!  What a deal ride in paradise, without concern for hikers, horses or any other trail user, and you don't need a stinking bell either, plus we'll feed you!  So tell your friends and make your plans now to attend an event that is sure to become a tradition here on the Central Coast, the "2nd Annual New Years Day at the Ranch!"

One other thing to mention is the formation of the Stump Grinder Bicycle Club, which will be the Santa Ynez Valley's only USA Cycling licensed bicycle racing club.  Our first SGBC meeting is this Wednesday at 6:30 PM at Antonio's Pizza in Buellton (behind Sears on Hwy 246).  Click here to get the membership form and see our awesome looking kit!
