2008 STUMP GRINDER DIRT
CLUB
WINTER CROSS COUNTRY
Saturday February 16th 2008
Charlotte’s Meadow, Los Olivos, CA
Held under USA Cycling Sanction and permit
GENERAL INFORMATION
This event is meant to
be inexpensive and fun for everyone. It is also
supposed to be an early season preparation event. To
make it interesting we’re going to toss a bit of money
back at you experts and pros, in a payback prize list
(the more the merrier, so get everyone there!), that
means if you place at least maybe you can have lunch on
us. I still remember what it was like struggling going
to events, never getting any payback (maybe getting a chimpy die-cast medal that just went into the beat
shopping bag back home with all the others), barely
having enough gas money to get home. We hope that
you’ll come out in droves for an event that pays you
back!
This race will use the same 11.40 mile course that the
24 Hours of Chamberlin Ranch did, and that the Santa
Ynez Valley National in May will use. It’s a great
course, with rolling hills, single track … it’s a lot of
fun! In addition to the XC there will be an all
categories Marathon XC for both men and women. This
being a small local/regional event the sport and
beginner categories w ill be combined, and all the age
groups are larger than normal as well. This gives
friends who might be in different age groups or
categories the chance to race against one another.
Sounds like fun to me. We’ll have a True First Timer
Category as well for TRUE FIRST TIME racers.
The Registration Tent will open at 6 AM Sharp, Marathon
and Sport/Beginners and the First Timers have first
priority. Please download this waiver
http://www.usacycling.org/forms/MTBEventRelease.pdf
fill it out, then do the same with the
Official Entry
Form and mail it with payment to the
address on the Entry. Make sure to note your start
time. Race day and late mail in Entries postmarked
after 2/10/07 will be charged a $5 late fee.
Un-licensed racers and First Timers are welcome but must
buy a one-day USAC license for $5. Parents of miners
must be in attendance and sign the waiver, NO
EXCEPTIONS.
