The Monday Night Time Trial Series:
6:00 pm, 2nd Monday of every month: The course will remain the same starting from Cathedral Oaks and Fairview; 10 miles. Other courses were considered but we decided that this is the safest and most direct.  Medals will be awarded for the winners of their respective age divisions which will be every five years beginning at 35 + an an Open division. There are 7 Monday nights in Daylight Savings. You need to complete 4 to be eligible for the series. You will be required to record your own time. The first time trial will be the second Monday of April.  See you at the starting line at 6:00. Visit Echelon Santa Barbara for results.

Saturday:
8:30 am, Goleta Beach Ride: 30 miles, fast but friendly pace. Meet at Goleta Beach (turn right at the beach entrance). We take the bike path to Hope Ranch for warm-up. Hills and sprints in Hope Ranch, with 2 stops to regroup; easy pace to La Cumbre & Foothill; race pace out Cathedral Oaks, final sprint uphill at Dos Pueblos High.
**This is an official Echelon ride, so all members are required to wear a helmet at all times. All other non-members, and those not wearing a helmet, assume the risks involved with riding in a group on public roads. The Echelon Cycling Club, it's members and supporters will not be held responsible for the actions of non-members.
Tuesday/Thursday: 8:00 am, Santa Barbara Roasting Company: Same route as Sunday Worlds, 35 mile loop to Rincon. If you don't make it to Roasting Company (corner of State St. and Gutierrez) by 8:02am you will be chasing the pack.  The pace can be anywhere from a piano cruise at 18 mph to a blazing 30+ mph, great training ride nonetheless in either case. Sunday: 9:00 am, East Beach Bathhouse: 35 mile loop to Rincon. The start is usually late by a few minutes but the pace more than makes up for it. The pack is heavy with the town's elite racers. Also sometimes referred to as the Sunday World Championships by the locals.

The Echelon Saturday Ride
- Ready to ride? We have a ride at 8:30 am meeting at the Daily Grind - corner of De La Vina and Mission, show up 5 minutes late and you may be chasin’.  The ride is an intermediate ride (35 to 40 mi., about 2 to 2 1/2 hours).  The average speed for the ride are typical for reasonable fit serious recreational riders but, there are designated regrouping stops for the rides announced before the ride start.  We have an “A” ride for the faster riders and we have a “B” ride for people who want a more casual pace or are new cyclists and want to learn how to group ride.

If there is a mechanical problem yell out and we'll stop to help.  If someone is going to quit early or if you simply don't want to stay with the pace of the group let someone know. This will prevent extended waits at the regroup stops for a rider who is not going to show. Communication is very important for a good group ride.

Safety is of the utmost importance with Echelon riders. These are group rides and proper group riding protocol must be followed.  A helmet is a definite requirement.  If you are not familiar with what goes on with a group ride ask. The rides are friendly and there are Echelon members who will gladly help acquaint new riders with how to safely ride with the pack.
